Hey guys!
Yes, I'm back.
This post shall be a dedication to all 4e1 members who have put in a lot of work for the class video, which have been submitted today.
I won't claim all the work, and even though many people say that I have done a lot, I still believe it's the class effort that made everything a success.
I'll thank the individuals who helped a lot, and I really mean a lot.
You might have contributed to the production of the class video directly, or indirectly. Some have lent the support I needed even though I made really last minute plans.
4 days... We completed everything in 4 days. Technically, it's about 12 hours, which is really half a day... But you get me anyway.
There are 5 major people I must thank.
So here goes...
The very first is
SHIYING.
You have helped the most in the planning, and have worked really closely with me to get the details out. I have to really thank you for that. I mean, there was no way I could have planned everything on my own, and definitely no way for me to come up with the ideas that you contributed. With your help, I have managed to come up with a plan of how the class video goes, even though we screwed it and just randomly added things at the last minute. So yes, thank you for being in charge of planning with me.The second is
LUZERNE.
Thanks for coming up with some of the ideas. Although you didn't sit down with us for most of the discussions, you did come up with some wicked ideas that really made the class video interesting. I have got to thank you for your video camera, because without it, nothing would be done. Your random videos also made the video awesome, so thank you. Last but not least, thanks for being so supportive of the video. You do have influence over the class, and really, sorry for making you stay back so late sometimes. Thank you for coming earlier to help. The third is
WENLIANG.
Well, you're like my assistant kind of guy when it comes to talking in front of the class. Thanks for helping me, because honestly, I didn't have the courage to shout in front of the class. With your help, it was definitely much better. Thanks for coming up with the dance idea, dancing and working with whoever was in your team for organising the dance. It was wicked awesome, really. Sidetracking, you really should go for DSA through dance. NJ! Thanks anyway. The fourth, and definitely the guy I must thank, is
XUANZHEN.
You are like the best camera man ever. Your skills are really good, and I'm glad that you are in this class. Without you figuring out the filming from different angles, the video would not be such a success. You work like backstage, which may seem insignificant, but that's the biggest role, so really, a BIG thank you. I know the editing was a hard job, but you did it (despite zhengyong's computer being really weird). I'm sorry to keep you waiting on Wednesday night for all the videos, but really, thank you thank you thank you! If only everyone thinks the same way you did... 4e1 is our class, and you will help with the class video. It's because of people like you that we really get things done. The fifth is
ASYIQIN.
Although you didn't write the song in the end, I'm really thankful that you tried. I have to thank you for singing with me, because I will never be able to do it alone. It was okay, right? I thought so. Thank you for coming up with some of the ideas and dancing. The sixth is
SWEEKUN.
Thanks for working on the song with me. That's the major thing you did, and of course, providing the ideas. Thank you for coming earlier to help us too. Most importantly, thank you for helping me with the organising when I needed the help.
The seventh is
HARIHARAN.
Thanks for coming up with the idea of a rap, working on it, and rapping. I'm sorry that I made you rush from gym training to help with the rap on Thursday, but I really thank you, because you came before the time you told me you were coming. I'm especially sorry for making you stay on Friday the other time when you were not needed at all, so you kinda wasted your time... SORRY but THANK YOU.The eighth is
ZHIMING.
Thanks for coming up with the tune, and staying back on Wednesday, as well as coming back on Thursday, to work on the song. Your guitar skills are awesome, really. BTW, i love the electric guitar. The nineth is
ZHENGYONG.
Thanks for helping out with all the filming. I know you live in Malaysia, and it's really troublesome for you sometimes, so I really appreciate the effort, especially coming earlier on Thursday so we can all work on the song and editing of video. The tenth is
JONATHAN.
Thanks for coming earlier to help with the song. To be honest, I really didn't expect you to come, but you still did even though you were sick. Honestly, that is awesome! Shi Ying told me what you said about the class video, and spirit thing. 4 days ain't long, but we did it! Thank you. Get well soon and rest well! The eleventh is
WILLIAM.
Thank you, William, for agreeing so readily to come earlier on Thursday to help with the song. You stayed back quite late whenever there were filming of scenes, so thank you. Love your effort for helping with the class video. The twelveth is
IZYAN.
Thank you Izyan, for staying back on Wednesday. I'm really sorry for making you stay back to wait for Asyiqin, but also, I have to thank you for coming earlier on Thursday. Your support is greatly appreciated. Your dance for BABY, by the way, was great. A scene of graceful yet wonderful dancing really made it special. The thirteenth is
KAVYA.The same as Izyan, so really thank you. I must apologise to you too for staying back and coming earlier. Your support for the video was needed, and you made me really thankful. The fourteenth is
JUNHAN.Initially, you were working on the rap, even though you didn't in the end. Nonetheless, thank you for trying. Also, thank you for attempting to rap when Hariharan wasn't around... I know it isn't easy, but thank you for trying.Of course, there are many others.
To
CHARMAINE,
For staying back on Wednesday and coming earlier on Thursday... I'm sorry for making you stay back for the past few filming days too, but thank you for the support. Thank you for dancing too!JIAREN,
For coming earlier on Thursday to help as well... Although you weren't really in much scenes, your efforts are appreciated.EUGENE,
For staying back on Wednesday to help us film when Xuan Zhen wasn't around, and for coming earlier on Thursday... You have been really enthusiastic about the class video, and have been constantly asking when we are filming. I really wish that there were more people like you, who are actually concerned about the progress of the class video.XUANWEN,
For joining us on Wednesday during filming.XUEYI,
For staying back after Speech Day when we were editing the video, and helping with the planning of the video occasionally. Your constant support is really appreciated. Thank you for the dancing as well.LYNETTE,
For staying back after Speech Day as well, and for helping me work out some things for the video... Thank you. I really appreciate the effort. Not forgetting, thank you for the dancing as well.Yeah, well...
& there were those who supported the video production mentally even though they couldn't always be there to help...
BEVERLY,
For being concerned about the video and constantly telling me not to be stressed out... Thank you. Thank you for joining in the dance too.WAI LOON,
For giving me the support and telling me that it's a great deal that I am taking initiative for making the video. It reminds me of how much this video means, and makes me feel appreciated. Of course, thank you for your participation in the dance.KRYSTAL,For telling me to relax whenever I get stressed... You gave me the support I needed as well... Thanks.JUSTIN,For annoying the crap out of me all the time during the few days, but still helping me occasionally... Your silly actions sometimes make me laugh so hard that I forget about all the stress that I faced with the video production. Your dance for BABY is cute! Thanks.
I can't forget about the rest of the individuals of the class who have participated in the class video.
Of course, you're not named individually because you are not as active as the rest, but do know that I am thankful for everything that you guys have done.
The staying back, the cards that you "designed", the effort put in, time wasted and so on...
Just a little simple shoutout to
Jared, Jean, Rebekah, Wei Rong, Yee Jin, Aisyah, Tun Leng, Wayne, Pesdy, Yao Xing and Shao Qi.Thanks to Becky and Wayne for joining in the dance, Jean and Tun Leng for the Mr Hoon card scene, Jared for the cardboard scene and Pesdy for the most needed enthusiasm. Thank you all.
THANK YOU.Not having an individual shoutout doesn't mean that you're not appreciated, less significant or useless in any way. I hope you don't feel left out, because there are really those who put much more effort to make this a success, and you might be part of this success, but I feel that others who put it much more deserves the recognition.
& OF COURSE,
MR HOON,Thank you for giving us your support throughout the process, and thank you for participating in the scenes needed even though they may seem silly or stupid. THANK YOU!Overall, I have to say...
It doesn't matter if we win in the end.
Winning is never everything. To me, what matters most is the process, and that we have fun doing what we are doing.
Honestly speaking, I have never considered doing this video to win. Of course, it would be nice if we did, I mean, how can winning not be nice, but ultimately, it is the final product.
My reason for doing this video is to let everyone remember the class.
Our hard work will pay off eventually, and every minute we spent doing this video will be remembered by some of us, especially me.
If people say that we do not have the class spirit, well, we have proven them wrong.
We did this video in such a short time.
How?
It is because every one of us cared enough to stay back and help, in one way or another.
Every single one of us put it that much effort that we can afford to put in to make this perfect. The final video may not be the best of the best, but at least, when we look back, we can reminisce the good times spent together.
Putting this video in a mere timing of hours isn't easy. People can take up to days and still fail to come up with something decent.
We, however, came through.
Class spirit is something that 4e1 has, but we don't realise it.
THE BEAUTY OF UNITY IN DIVERSITY...
No one sees that in us.
Our class has untapped potential. We just don't know how to make use of it.
We really are talented.
We have people who can dance, sing, play instruments, plan, lead, study, work with computers, write, film, direct, influence and joke.
We are really all-rounded as a class, and that is something I believe that only our class has.
Maybe no one has ever noticed this, but our class tends to stand as one in times of needs. We give each other support when it is needed. We stand as one to defend each other. We never let each other down.
That's what I call "Go far, go together"...
I think Jonathan commented that completing the video in four days is called class spirit, and it really is.
Seriously, do you think that it is easy to finish something like a class video in 4 days with a class like ours?
No, it isn't.
Some may not understand, but as the person who is kinda the in-charge of this video, it really is a difficult task to coordinate everything. If you don't believe me, just ask around. Ask those whom I have worked with, or people like Shi Ying, Zhi Ming, Luzerne, Wen Liang, Asyiqin, Hariharan and Xuan Zhen.
I spent time in front of the computer, typing out the proposal for class video.
I spent time online, discussing details and planning out the timeline, arranging timing for filming.
I stayed up yesterday so that I can make sure everything runs smoothly today for the editing of the video.
I'm not boasting or anything, but it really ain't easy.
My role in class isn't like really big, but I'm juggling many things at one go.
The role of the vice-chairman, and occasionally, the chairman...
The role of the class secretary...
The role of the class treasurer...
The role of a student...
And of course, I'm juggling my time to study, especially now that I live so far from school.
Trust me, if you were to walk in my shoes for one day, you'll know how tiring this can be.
So, once again, THANK YOU to all.
